Essential requirements for this industry are multi-level Engineering and Production Bills of Material, Material Planning, Scheduling, Quality Management, Traceability and Warranty and Service History. Bills of Material Multi-level Bills of Material (BOM) are normally required with both phantom and stocked sub-assemblies.

There are often requirements to sub-contract operations or sub-assemblies with dispatch to of one or many components to a sub-contractor. Parts may be stocked in multiple stocking locations and pick lists need to identify the location of components.

Parts may be need to identify the location of components in the product being manufactured to ensure correct assembly. Locator information is provided to meet this requirement.

Indented Bill of Material and Where-Used enquiries and reports are required. Changes to the BOM needs to managed effectively through Change Management. Mass change of components is often a useful tool as components get superseded. The Aware Enterprise System provides comprehensive functionality in all these areas.

Material Planning

MRP will explode the requirements down through 25 levels of the BOM. It combines planning between sites and the BOM explosion simultaneously so that you get a complete plan to manufacture, transfer stock, raise sub-contractor orders and purchase materials.

Scheduling

You will often have large investments in equipment and often running multiple shifts to improve your return on investment. You consequently want to be able to schedule effectively both machines and people to ensure production time is maximised.

The Aware Scheduler will load all unscheduled jobs automatically based on rules you set. The schedule can then be manipulated by your production scheduler to achieve the best result. The Aware scheduler automatically reshuffles all the following jobs when an operation is moved.

Quality Management

Aware provides comprehensive Quality Management functions including tracking of all testing performed on the product during and after production. The system conforms to ISO9001 standards.

Traceability

Full Serial control provides seamless tracking of Serial Numbers throughout the supply chain. From a Finished Product Serial Number all the Serial Numbers or Batch Numbers of intermediate and purchased products which went into the final product are listed.

Similarly entry of a Supplier Serial Number or Batch Number shows the units of Sub-Assemblies and Finished Product it went into and which shipment to a customer included this item. Warranty and service history may be tracked by Serial Number through the Aware Field Service module.
